Visit of nursing managers of Estonian medical institutions to Klaipeda

Nursing guides to Estonian medical institutions on 28 November visited the Republican Klaipėda Hospital and the branch of Klaipėda University Hospital “Seafarers’ Hospital”, where they got acquainted with the technologies implemented in the operating rooms – smart warehouses.

A group of guests from the Northern Estonia Medical Center, West Tallinn Central Hospital, East Tallinn Central Hospital and Kuressaare Hospital were interested in the smart warehouse system installed in the Operating Rooms, digitized and automated processes, and the advantages of an innovative system.

RKL is the first in the country and the first in the Baltic region to install smart warehouses in Operating Rooms a year ago. Digitized and automated processes of smart warehouses ensure real-time monitoring of the residues in them, generate automatic orders for the supplier, guarantee optimal balances of the necessary medical devices and make the operation of the operating room more efficient. Nurses no longer need to do unskilled work, so they can devote all their attention to direct work with the patient.

In September, the smart supply management system was installed in all departments performing surgical interventions (the Operating Department, the Department of Cardiovascular Radiology, as well as the Cardiac Arrhythmias Department) in the branch of ku hospital “Seafarers’ Hospital”. This is not the first step in optimizing the daily activities of the hospital’s medical staff. Last year, the hospital also installed smart cabinets that perform the same functions as smart warehouses.

AmberLink, a smart supply chain management system, helps to save funds for medical institutions and optimize staff workload, increasing staff motivation and job satisfaction.
