In cooperation with Terumo Europe , on November 8-9, trainings “Minimally invasive liver cancer treatments” were held at VUL Santaros Clinics . As part of the Terumo Learning Edge programme, interventional radiologists from Latvia and Estonia participated in a two-day learning session.
This educational program discussed relevant topics about the minimally invasive treatment of liver cancer, the role of the multidisciplinary team of tumors, ablation, embolization and a combined method, and presented complex cases.
The training session combined the presentation of treatment methods, discussion and discussion of the procedures performed in order to provide doctors with a wide range of information about advanced liver cancer treatment techniques, to provide knowledge about MIT indications and contraindications, possible complications, and to highlight important aspects that need to be prepared when starting procedures.
The participants of this program had the opportunity to learn from the trainings of the interventional radiologists of VUL Santaros Clinics Dr. Marius Kurminas, Dr. Donatas Jocius and to obtain evidence-based knowledge about the full spectrum of minimally invasive treatment of liver cancer, including surgery, ablation, TACE, TARE and electrochemotherapy. In-depth discussions were held to both discuss real cases and analyze treatment options by analyzing the cases of more complex patients.
