Innovative solutions for the supply of optimal kits presented at the conference in Šiauliai

On June 7, at the scientific-practical conference “The Surgeon’s Achievements and Cooperation” held in Šiauliai. How do we tune in?” we presented a smart solution for the supply of optimal kits.

Chairman of the Western Region Association of Surgeons assoc. Prof. Jonas Jurgaitis shared the achievements of the branch of KU Hospital “Seafarers’ Hospital”, describing the situation and challenges of Lithuanian operating rooms, presenting case analysis data and sharing insights that in the future, digitalization and implementation of automated processes are necessary in many areas of the medical sector.

Andželika Zavackienė, Deputy Director of the Republican Klaipėda Hospital, where the smart supply solution was installed first in the country, shared good practices in the nurses’ session, presenting the benefits that the operating rooms and the hospital have gained by implementing an innovative supply management solution.

During the conference, we invited surgeons and nurses who shared into two different sessions to get acquainted with the optimal sets “OptiPack” in person, to learn how the innovative supply management system Amberlink works, how convenient the EndPoint supply management solution is, when the necessary tools are automatically delivered to the nearest place of use.

The optimal packaging consists of almost all (about 80 percent) sterile devices needed for specific operations (disposable clothing, blankets, bandages, instruments, etc.). The need for specific measures is clarified and the exact set is agreed with the doctors and nurses who perform the operations. The team of specially trained employees who carry out the delivery of packages arrives at the most convenient time for the hospital (automated supply). Employees who know the rules of behavior in clean environments transport the packages directly to the smart warehouse next to the operating rooms and sort them by type of operations. Packaging is delivered in reusable transport boxes, so the amount of waste in the hospital is significantly reduced.
