New Renzan stent unveiled in the Baltics

In all three Baltic states, a new Terum peripheral stent, Renzan, was introduced.

The presentation of the new generation stent was organized by Ljubomir Dujakovic, a specialist in terum products, who visited the Kaunas clinics of LSMU Hospital, the Gailezers clinics of Riga Eastern University Hospital and the clinics of the University of Tartu. In these medical institutions, the specialist presented the product, laid out the instructions for implanting the stent, shared experience and insights about Terum’s peripheral products.

The first Renzan stent was implanted in a patient with peripheral arterial disease at Riga Eastern University Hospital by interventional radiologist Dr. Aina Kratovska and vascular surgeon assoc. prof. Patricia Ivanova. Dr. Martin Reim, an interventional radiologist at the University of Tartu Clinic, used this stent to intervene in a 73-year-old patient using a drug-coated balloon. The ability to replace the stent, the excellent visibility of the stent along its entire length, flexibility and anatomical compatibility were identified as the advantages of the Renzan stent during the implantation process.

RenzanTM stent – a new generation stent made of nitinol with radioactive markers at each end of the stent. The design of the braided wire increases flexibility and adaptability to the dynamic movement of the vessel. The interchangeable stent introduction system ensures easy and accurate implantation of the stent.
