Training for interventional radiology laboratory nurses

On June 5-6, together with “Terumo” company, we organized trainings for nurses of the interventional radiology laboratory in kaunas clinics of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences . As part of the Terumo Learning Edge program, we invited healthcare professionals from the Czech Republic to a two-day learning session.

In this educational program, relevant topics were presented to nurses: care before and after procedures, radiation safety and protection in the interventional radiology laboratory, coronary interventions and materials, complications and critical situations, participation in the interventional radiology laboratory and case monitoring, sharing of best practices. During the session, presentations, discussions and practices were combined to provide skills on how to achieve hemostasis in patients using innovative devices.

The participants of this program had the opportunity to learn about the complex methods of patient treatment of nurses together with professor Ramūnas Uniko, head of the Department of Interventional Cardiology, Dr. Rasa Ordiene, Interventional Cardiologist, Neringa Packevičienė, Chief Nurse Neringa Packevičienė, Interventional Radiology Laboratory team Eduard Tsybulskyi, Brigita Augūne, Radiation Protection Specialist Egidijus Lysenko.
