Nurses of the interventional radiology laboratory drew from the knowledge in Kaunas clinics

In cooperation with Terumo Europe, continuing training for interventional cardiology nurses was organized at Kaunas Clinics of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences.

During the implementation of the Terumo Learning Edge program, health care professionals from the Czech Republic were greeted by the head of the Interventional Cardiology Center, cardiologist Prof. Ramūnas Unikas, who presented the activities of the clinics and the center, achievements and further plans of the Interventional Cardiology Center.

In the educational part of the program, relevant topics were presented to the guests: care before and after the procedures, radiation safety and protection in the interventional operating room, complications and critical situations, participation in interventional procedures. During the classes, examples of good practice were shared.

The participants of the program had the opportunity to learn complex methods of patient treatment and gain knowledge together with an experienced chief nurse Neringa Packevičienė, interventional operating room team: dr. Aiste Žebrauskaitė, Eduard Tsybulskyi, Brigita Augūne and radiation protection specialist Egidijus Lysenko.
