As part of the Terumo Learning Edge training program at VUL Santaros Clinics, ongoing trainings on the topic “Minimally invasive liver cancer treatments” (en.” were organized. Minimally Invasive Treatments in Liver Cancer Management”). The program, presented for the second time, attracted even more interest from experienced professionals, and the geography of the participants also expanded – this time doctors interventional radiologists from Hungary, the Czech Republic and Latvia came to deepen their knowledge.
At the same time, the first course for nurses on the topic “Ablations in the control of a computed tomograph” was also organized, which was conducted by Ekaterina Rubcova, a nurse of the Interventional Radiology Department. During the program, the specialists deepened their knowledge about how to prepare for procedures, what is most important in positioning the patient and working with innovative equipment.
During the training, minimally invasive procedures were demonstrated, during which liver ablation and transartheral chemoembolysis (TACE) were performed using the AI-controlled Cascination navigation system.
Experienced doctors of the interventional radiology department Dr. Marius Kurminas, Dr. Donatas Jocius gave lectures on the most innovative solutions for the treatment of liver cancer, based on new guidelines and studies, the importance of a multidisciplinary team, presented treatment cases that caused many challenges, but successfully ended, which had to be encountered in practice.
