Klaipėda-based company AmberCell Solutions, the first in the Baltic States to automate the supply of surgical medical equipment to healthcare institutions, has increased both its sales and profit over the past year.
According to the data from the Centre of Registers, the company generated EUR 17.9 million in revenue and earned a net profit of EUR 2.1 million last year. These figures represent an increase of 26% and 32% respectively compared to 2023.
The company’s CEO and shareholder, Evaldas Gražys, attributes this growth to geographical expansion and an extended range of services.
The company uses RFID technology in its procurement processes – marking and tracking items using radio frequency signals.
“The growth is driven by the fact that we are opening new doors to sectors we hadn’t entered before – both geographically and in terms of our service portfolio.
We currently operate in Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia,” E. Gražys told Vakarų Ekspresas.
According to him, AmberCell Solutions has developed an in-house solution that accelerates the procurement of surgical equipment and reduces the administrative burden on medical staff.
“These are highly complex processes – involving state institutions and public procurement. The demand for various items is constantly growing, which becomes a challenge for hospitals. As a result, medical professionals who should be caring for patients often spend a large amount of time managing procurement tasks.
We’ve automated that process,” the CEO explained.
“In other words, our aim is that any medical professional arriving at work knows they’ll always have the necessary tools ready for their procedures. There’s no need to calculate or manually check anything – the system we’ve developed handles it,” he added.
E. Gražys says that AmberCell was the first company to offer such a service in the Baltics.
“We are pioneers in the Baltic region – I say this with full responsibility. And globally – I don’t think there are many others like us,” he said.
The entire supply process is supported by proprietary software, smart warehouses, and RFID-enabled cabinets, as well as by the company’s logistics team who handle deliveries.
According to Sodra, AmberCell Solutions currently employs 31 people, with an average gross salary of EUR 6,700. The company’s shares are held by Lithuanian, Latvian, and Estonian entities.

Significant changes in the healthcare system do not happen by themselves.
They begin with ambitious ideas – and the ability to transform those ideas into real, sustainable solutions. Yet small improvements alone are not enough. Overcoming the challenges of modern healthcare requires systemic innovation: innovations that reduce complexity, enable faster adaptation, and deliver tangible results where they matter most.
At AmberCell Solutions, we develop innovative, large-scale solutions that help healthcare systems operate more precisely, efficiently, and reliably. Our work goes far beyond supplying products – we aim to reshape hospital operating models, optimize workflows, reduce administrative burdens, and unlock resources that can be redirected to patient care.
We operate across all Baltic countries and are proud to be the first in the region to develop and implement an automated surgical supply solution. This system automates the movement of surgical instruments from warehouse to operating room, ensuring speed, transparency, and full traceability at every stage.
SEQUENTIAL PROCESS MANAGEMENT AND DATA CONTROL
Our solution enables centralized and automated management of surgical kits – from storage to point-of-use in the operating room.
Each kit is tagged with an RFID label, allowing the system to track its location, movement, and usage in real time. The surgical team no longer needs to manually check stock levels or place orders – supply demand is automatically updated based on actual consumption.
Additional information, such as kit composition or expiration dates, is integrated through connected hospital systems. All data is consolidated in one platform, enabling precise inventory control and actionable analytics: from demand forecasting and overorder prevention to waste reduction and early detection of supply disruptions.
SAVES TIME, REDUCES ERRORS
The system allows you to significantly reduce the amount of manual work both at the preparation stage and at the order stage. Hospitals that implement this solution notice shorter time to prepare for surgery, better planning of the placement of measures and a lower risk of human error. In addition, it helps to reduce indirect costs – related to temporary employment of employees, quantities of waste or duplication of stocks.
Most importantly, the system helps to create trust between the operational personnel and logistics chain. When supply runs smoothly, staff can focus on what matters most – clinical work and patient safety.
