Training on the closure of the radial artery was held

As interventional medicine becomes more popular and more minimally invasive procedures are performed, it is necessary to pay attention to the correct technique of radial artery closure, which helps to avoid complications and ensures faster, smoother recovery of the patient.

Practical training on radial artery closure for nurses was held at Panevėžys Republican Hospital, organized as part of the Terumo Learning Edge educational program. Teams of nurses from the departments of interventional cardiology, radiology, internal medicine, intensive care and neurology participated in the training.

The topic of the training is how to properly use solutions for radial artery closure after interventional procedures.
During the training, the following were discussed:
• the most common mistakes when closing the radial artery and how to avoid them;
• alternative puncture methods and their hemostasis peculiarities;
• Practical nursing actions in the daily routine.
