In Kaunas clinics , interventional cardiology nurses’ trainings were organized in cooperation with Terumo Europe. The training was attended by a group of health care professionals from the Czech Republic, who deepened their knowledge and got acquainted with the activities of the Interventional Cardiology Center of Kaunas Clinics of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Hospital.
The training was conducted by cardiologist, professor Ramūnas Unikas, together with doctor Rasa Ordiene and chief nurse Neringa Packevičienė. Prof. Unikas presented the achievements of the center, future plans and the activities of the clinics. During the educational part, relevant topics were discussed, such as preoperative and postoperative care, radiation safety and protection in the intervention procedure operating room (CathLab), possible complications and emergency situations. Guests from the Czech Republic also took part in practical classes and shared their experiences.
The practical part of the training took place together with the team of nurses of interventional cardiology of Kaunas Clinics, as well as catlab team members Brigita Augūnas and radiation protection specialist Egidijus Lysenko.
