Interventional radiology specialists from all three Baltic states – Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia – gathered in Leuven (Belgium) for the intensive and enriching Terumo Learning Edge program. This event aimed to enhance the expertise in interventional radiology and oncology nursing by providing attendees with advanced skills and insights related to an important role in health care.
The agenda combined theoretical learning, practical practice, and collaborative discussions. The sessions featured lectures on Terum’s history and philosophy, oncology progress, and interventional nursing techniques such as IO access devices and the handling of embolization material. Practical training was devoted to microcataters, flow patterns and TATO technology for the treatment of the liver. The program culminated in an inspiring experience in which nurses discussed organizing cat labs and the daily challenges of workflow in their regions.
This program not only provided technical training, but also promoted regional cooperation between the Baltic states, allowing nurses to share insights and at the same time improve the provision of health care services. Providing healthcare professionals with knowledge and practical skills, as well as contributing to society through innovative and patient-centred healthcare solutions.
