At the event for gynecologists – about the embolization of fibroids

Interdisciplinary collaboration is not a choice, but a necessity to provide patients with the best possible care. Studies show that interdisciplinary partnerships between physicians lead to better treatment outcomes: faster diagnostics, more effective treatment strategies, and comprehensive patient care.

In order to promote dialogue between specialists, interventional radiologist Dr. Andrius Pranculis participated in the gynecology event “Uterine fibroids and other important topics of gynecology”, where he presented the advantages and challenges of uterine fibroids embolization.

Embolization of uterine fibroids is a minimally invasive procedure performed by an interventional radiologist. During embolization, special microspheres are injected into the blood vessels that feed the myoma that block blood flow to the myoma and this leads to a decrease in fibroids. Embolization of fibroids is a safe, effective alternative to surgical treatment, allowing you to return to normal life faster.

In his report, Dr. Pranculis emphasized that only through close cooperation between gynecologists and interventional radiologists can the best results be ensured for patients. “When knowledge and experience are combined, there are more opportunities to apply advanced, less invasive treatment solutions,” Dr. Pranculis told the assembled gynecologists.
