The first pulmonary cryoablation procedure was successfully performed at Tartu University Hospital. This move strengthens the development of interventional oncology services in the region and provides more minimally invasive treatment options for patients with lung tumors.

Minimally Invasive Liver Cancer Treatment in Klaipeda

At Klaipėda University Hospital, a 70-year-old liver cancer patient who could not undergo surgery was given a minimally invasive treatment method – microwave ablation. During the procedure, the tumor is destroyed by precise exposure to heat, without damaging the surrounding tissues, and the patient’s recovery is faster and easier than after open surgery.
