A Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) workshop for interventional cardiology specialists was organised at Šiauliai Republic Hospital in cooperation with Terumo Europe. During the one-day training, which was organised as part of the Terumo Learning Edge programme, the Cardiovascular Department of Riga East University Hospital shared its long-standing experience in the treatment and management of CTO cases. leader, interventional cardiologist Dr. Artis Kalninš.
Dr. A.Kalninš shared his experience about dTRA procedures in his daily practice, and then the participants were invited to watch several live procedures under the supervision of Dr. A.Kalninš. During the internship, three complex surgeries were performed by Vilmantas Smalinskas, Head of the Interventional Angiology Department of the Šiauliai Republican Hospital, in collaboration with A. Kalninš, MD. Although all three cases were complex, the operations were successful thanks to the experienced specialists.
