{"id":12062,"date":"2026-05-05T10:32:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-05T10:32:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambercell.eu\/?p=12062"},"modified":"2026-05-05T10:32:23","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T10:32:23","slug":"first-pulmonary-cryoablation-at-tartu-university-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambercell.eu\/en\/news\/first-pulmonary-cryoablation-at-tartu-university-hospital\/","title":{"rendered":"Interventional Oncology ECIO 2026: Trends in the Baltics"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This year, <strong>the Ambercell Solutions team<\/strong> spent several days at <strong>ECIO<\/strong>, one of Europe&#8217;s most important <strong>interventional oncology events<\/strong>, bringing together doctors, scientists, and industry representatives to share the latest clinical experience and innovations <strong>in minimally invasive cancer treatment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>It is gratifying to see how actively doctors from <strong>Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia<\/strong> are actively involved <strong>in the ECIO Congress<\/strong> \u2013 they not only participate, but also actively participate in practical sessions, case discussions and workshops.<\/p>\n\n<p>It was also good to meet our partners \u2013 <strong>Igea, Cascination, Varian<\/strong> (Siemens Healthineers) and <strong>Terumo<\/strong> \u2013 in the exhibition space and to see how much discussion and interest was taking place at their stands.<\/p>\n\n<p>Conversations with doctors kept coming back to similar topics. Ablation continues to expand according to indications, but there is less and less discussion about the choice of methods. More emphasis is placed <strong>on planning, navigation and validation of results in practice.<\/strong> The integration of navigation and imaging is increasingly mentioned in clinical discussions, especially in complex cases, where the consistency of procedures becomes the most important challenge.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The increasing involvement <strong>of multidisciplinary teams<\/strong> \u2013 oncologists and surgeons \u2013 is also becoming apparent. More and more cases are being solved together, combining different treatment methods. <\/p>\n\n<p>One of the sessions that stood out was a lecture on<strong> re-TACE (Re-TACE)<\/strong> presented by <strong>Terumas<\/strong>. It discussed the challenges associated with <strong>repeated chemoembolization<\/strong> \u2013 vascular changes, collateral formation, and the risk of ischemic damage to healthy liver tissue.
