A uterine fibroid is a benign tumour of the smooth muscle of the uterus, the growth of which is regulated by sex hormones.<\/span><\/span> It is found in about a quarter of women with gynaecological problems who go to the doctor. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Possible symptoms: irregular periods, genital bleeding between periods, painful intercourse, lower abdominal pain, constipation, frequent <\/span>frequent urination<\/span>pain in the loins, heavy menstrual periods, lumbar pain.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Uterine fibroids are treated medically, surgically<\/span>, laparoscopic <\/span>and <\/span>embolization<\/span>. Miomos <\/span>embolization<\/span> is minimally <\/span>invasive<\/span> treatment<\/span>, sparing <\/span>method, where a catheter is inserted through a blood vessel in the groin and injected with <\/span>embolization<\/span> particles<\/span>and in some cases <\/span>microspires<\/span>. They clog the arteries that feed the myoma, so that the myoma dies without being fed.<\/span> Embolization<\/span> is done under local anaesthesia only.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n After embolization, we can always<\/span>\n<\/span>\n a <\/span>\n<\/span>\n a more radical treatment option<\/span>\n<\/span>\n if the myoma grows back<\/span>\n<\/span>. Myoma embolization is an organ-sparing procedure that spares the woman’s uterus. Practically all myomas can be embolized, or partial embolization followed by combination therapy can be used.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
