Gydytojai šią procedūra atliko naudodami individualų, pagal specialų užsakymą Terumo Aortic kompanijos pagamintas RELAY CUSTOM aortos lanko stentgraftą. Aortos lanko aneurizmos gydymas dengtu stentgraftu vyksta su bendra nejautra, kontroliuojant rentgenu. Stentgraftas (sintetiniu audiniu – graftu – dengtas metalinis karkasas) pagamintas individualiai pagal pacientės anatomiją su skylėmis, į kurias įkišami papildomi stentai galvos arterijoms.
Gydytojai procedūrai ruošėsi labai atidžiai, parinkdami įvairių papildomų priemonių galimų komplikacijų išvengimui arba sumažinimui. Ši procedūra tiek jos metu, tiek pooperaciniame periode daug mažiau rizikinga nei atliekant atvirą širdies ir aortos operaciją, tačiau taip pat gana sudėtinga, nes intervencija daroma aortos lanko srityje – daugiaetapės manipuliacijos vykdomos labai svarbioje kraujotakos vietoje, iš kurios kraujas stambiomis kraujagyslėmis patenka į galvą, rankas ir žemiau – pilvo sritį ir kojas, todėl tokio tipo procedūros laikomos aukščiausio lygio implantacijomis.

For the first time in the Baltics, Vilnius University hospital Santaros klinikos Interventional Radiology Department’s doctor interventional cardiologist Andrius Berukštis and interventional radiologist Rokas Girčius performed the implantation of an individual stent graft in the aortic arch. Until now, aortic arch dilatation or rupture has only been treated surgically, with a very complex, lengthy, and traumatic for patients.
Doctors performed intervention by using an individual custom-made Terumo Aortic manufactured aortic arch stent graft RELAY CUSTOM. A stent graft (metal frame covered with synthetic tissue (graft)) is made individually according to the patient’s anatomy with holes into which additional stents for the arteries of the head are inserted. Aortic arch aneurysm treatment with a covered stent graft is performed under general anesthesia, and X-ray control.
During the procedure and in the postoperative period, this intervention is much less risky than open heart and aortic surgery. Nevertheless, it is also quite complicated procedure, because the intervention is carried out in the aortic arch. Doctors prepared for the procedure very carefully, choosing various additional measures to avoid or reduce possible complications. During procedure with minimal intervention, multi-stage manipulations are carried out in a very important place of blood circulation, from which blood enters the head through large blood vessels, arms, abdomen, and legs, therefore this type of procedure is considered the highest level of implantation.
